(From the 2026 Muslim Prayer Guide) – In her dust-choked city in Yemen, under the watchful eyes of her in-laws, Samira lived a life shaped by obedience: to faith, to her husband, to fear. But with her husband away in the militia, fighting in Yemen’s on-going civil war, she felt a glimmer of hope. It was her phone. When her children were tucked in around her and asleep, she kept returning to the sites she had found that offered such beautiful words in her own language. With time, she learned they were from the Bible. The words didn’t condemn…they comforted, “Come to Me all, who are weary.”
Samira found a way to ask questions, and her certainty grew that Jesus was indeed the Way, the Truth and the Life. She says, “What Jesus Christ did, no one else can do. He raised the dead, healed the sick, and forgave sinners. This is because He is God manifest in the flesh. Therefore, I followed Him because there is no salvation apart from Jesus Christ. To Him be all the glory!”
Her phone then became a place of fellowship as she learned of others in her city who also followed Jesus. At first, it was only messages –shared Scriptures and prayers. Then the believers found a way to meet together, but never in the place on the same day. Samira is concerned. She knows her in-laws have seen a change in her and are suspicious. When they follow her, she changes direction and goes to her parents house where she is quietly sharing with her brother.
