Pray for India

(From Pray4SouthAsia) – Today, September 9, marks the end of a 10-day Hindu festival called Ganesh Chaturthi which is dedicated to Ganesha, the elephant god. This final celebration is called Anant Chaturdashi. Anant means “without end” and this day is dedicated to the worship of an “unending” form of the god Vishnu. Ironically on this day the idols of Ganesha that have been worshipped for the past 10 days are now ceremonially disposed of in a body of water by devotees. 1) Pray that people’s eyes would be opened to the futility of idol worship. 2) Pray that Hindus would encounter the true, eternal, creator God who loves them and paid for their sins through the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.
