Missionaries from the Global North (nations like the US, Canada, the UK, etc.) serving outside their countries have ALMOST HALVED in the last 50 years. In the same time period, missionaries from the Global South (nations in South America, Africa, Asia, etc.) have increased around SEVEN TIMES.
It is estimated that up to 60% of the world’s population lived in unreached people groups without breakthrough churches 50 years ago, but that has been reduced to less than 25% of the world’s population today!
Missions mobilization has become much more geographically and culturally proximate to the unreached people groups of the world. Over the last 50 years, we’ve also seen great progress of initial breakthrough churches started among people groups that were previously unreached.
