When It All Hits Home…

Our copy of the “Voice of the Martyrs” magazine just arrived, and the lead story is “Nigeria: Christ amid the Crisis”. The accompanying picture is was a very poignant picture of an older lady who is poor, and who’s obviously lived a very hard life sitting on some bags of rice or grain and leaning on her staff. The magazine recounts the trials of the persecuted church in Nigeria. We’ve written other stories on this before, and the mass slaughter of Christians that’s happening in that nation. It’s one thing to read about these tragedies in a magazine, but when you learn from a friend of a personal situation in Nigeria, it takes the tragedy to an entirely new level….the picture we just received is of a man sitting at a desk and he’s just been kidnapped.

We got a message from a missionary friend in Nigeria which read, “Help to pray for our brother in the Lord, he was kidnaped yesterday evening as he was coming from work… His name is Francince Enteng in Nigeria. His wife is Nigerian Ambassador in Malawi, they are all born again.” Of course, our prayers are with this man and his family, and all of the persecuted Christians in Nigeria and the rest of the 10/40 Window!
