(This story is from Create International…) “Growing up, I always prayed in Serbian because I thought God only spoke Serbian and not my mother tongue. The heart language is so important to God that even in heaven, we will speak our mother tongue, as stated in Revelation 7:9. Ever since, the Lord gave me a burning desire to work and create a children’s Bible for the Roma children so that they will know that God speaks their language, that God in a way is Roma but also contextualized it so that the children can relate to the Bible stories.” – Misha, a Roma believer.
“The majority of Roma (Gypsy) people scattered throughout Europe grew up speaking the language of their host countries. Many faced discrimination, were looked down upon, and shunned. However, one Roma believer dared to dream that the next generation would one day believe and see that God speaks their heart language and that He is for them.
“On the other side of the world a team from Create International, known as Create Seeds, began with the dream of using their artistic, writing, and animation skills to bless the children of unreached people groups. They believe that these children have the right to see and hear the Good News in their own heart language. They also deserve access to high-quality children’s books and other resources that are relatable and meaningful to them.
“By God’s divine appointment Misha got connected with the Create Seeds team and together they embarked on a journey to make their dream a reality. After a few years of hard work, they witnessed history in the making: the creation of the very first Roma children’s Bible in the history of the Roma people. This Bible, fully contextualized for Roma children and written in the Roma language, was named “Mli Biblija Maje Ki Chib – My Bible In My Language.”
