When God Moves, He First Calls Us To Pray

(From Crescent Project, crescentproject.org) In August of 1806, just outside Williamstown, Massachusetts, five young college students gathered to discuss the spiritual needs of people in distant nations. Their conversation was interrupted by a sudden thunderstorm, forcing them to take shelter under a haystack. There, their discussion turned into prayer—and that prayer ignited a deep conviction that God was calling them, and others like them, to carry the gospel where it was not yet known.

That moment, now known as the Haystack Revival, sparked a missionary movement that would shape generations.

Jonathan Edwards once said, “When God is about to do a powerful thing, he always sets his people praying.” At Crescent Project, we believe that prayer still precedes movement—and that’s why we’re excited to invite you into the Ramadan Prayer Night Experience.

This free, video-based resource is designed to help God’s people pray intentionally for Muslims during the month of Ramadan. Whether you’re a missions pastor hosting a church-wide gathering or someone inviting a few friends into your living room, we’ve made it simple to host. The experience includes a leader’s guide video, printable resources for participants, and promotional tools to help you invite others. Though it’s called a “Prayer Night,” the guided experience can be used at any time that works best for you and your group.

It’s free to sign up, and we invite you to explore the resource today. You’re reading this newsletter because you long to see Muslims come to faith in Christ. Now, take the next step—gather a few others and pray for God to move in your city and beyond.
